Denial - a one sided affair by John Taft http://www.innocent.org.uk/misc/denial.html No Smoke by Lady Sandra Lean http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1906628009 The PORTIA Campaign The PORTIA Campaign was previously a registered charity called the Portia Trust, that was set up after a baby snatch conviction 27 years ago. This led to a sentence which many thought horrifically cruel. The organisation has now become a loose association of like-minded people. PORTIA aims to help anyone who is innocently in trouble with the law or deserves compassion, perhaps in prison, perhaps serving life sentences because of judicial blunders. PORTIA aims to tell their story without the hate, spite and vengeance often unjustly aimed at them. PORTIA members also have ideas for making the law less likely to fail. Miscarriages of Justice UK (MOJUK) http://www.appleonline.net/justice/jus.html MOJUK was founded in 1996 by John O to keep alive stories of those people in prisons (Hostages of the State) nation wide who are campaigning against a miscarriage of justice. MOJUK aims to keep an up to date record of Hostages who are campaigning against a miscarriage of justice, and to provide free publicity about cases on the world wide web where it is believed a miscarriage has occurred. MOJUK provides a regular newsletter, ‘Inside Out’, which mainly contains articles written by the ‘Hostages’ themselves and keeps people informed about where individual cases are up to. Advice and assistance on how to set up campaigns and publicise injustices is also an aim of MOJUK. MOJO - UK http://home.beseen.com/belief/mojouk Founded in 1999 by Mr Paddy Hill (one of a group of men known collectively as the Birmingham Six) to help people in prison nation-wide where it is believed or established that those prisoners are there as a result of a miscarriage of justice. MOJO also aims to provide a positive after-care programme, and support to the families of those wrongfully convicted. INNOCENT http://www.innocent.org.uk/ INNOCENT is a Manchester based organisation which supports and campaigns for innocent people in prison. It is made up of families, friends and supporters of wrongly convicted prisoners who have come together in order to help each other. INNOCENT was founded in 1993, and meets on a fortnightly basis. The prime purpose of the web site is to raise people’s awareness about miscarriages of justice, and gives details of how to contact the organisation.
